The tradition continues — N47 is once again present at the biggest events in the IT industry. As a modern company, our developers regularly attend conferences around the world, but we also make sure to support local events. This year, me and my colleagues from the iOS team made sure to be at iOSKonf25 in Skopje, Macedonia. We’ve got quite a few friends involved in the organization, and it was an easy decision to join again. It was only the second edition of the conference, but what a great event it was!

Some Stats

  • 15 top-notch speakers
  • 2 days of talks
  • 1 workshop day
  • 1 Launchpad showcase day
  • 1 Apple product exhibition (organized by FINKI students — shoutout to them!)
  • Tons of networking during breaks
  • After parties to close the day

My Favourites

Every talk was insightful and packed with value, but here are a few that stood out for me:

Nikola Angjelkovikj – “Chats in the Sky”

I was positively surprised by this one. Nikola, a Macedonian developer, presented a super creative idea: enabling in-flight chat between passengers without internet. His team used Apple’s Multipeer Connectivity framework to build a chat app that works offline — clever use of available tech! He shared both the technical challenges and the marketing hurdles they’ve faced. Honestly, I see big potential here.

Klemens Strasser – “Make it Memorable: Crafting Apps That Stand Out”

Klemens delivered one of the most engaging presentations of the event. He took us through his journey from college days to building apps that caught Apple’s eye — winning awards and getting into finalists’ lists. What impressed me most was his mindset: focus on fast results, reuse known code, don’t stress too much about architecture or overengineering. And yes — Apple loves when developers embrace their newest APIs from day one.

My perspective of the event

Alex Ozun – “Make Invalid States Impossible”

Alex, from Ukraine, focused on a concept that resonates with every dev — preventing invalid or error states before they happen. His talk was a deep dive into designing apps in a way that avoids bad user states altogether. Very practical and full of takeaways.

Daniel Saidi – “Distributing and Monetising Our Apps with Swift Package Manager”

An excellent session exploring how to distribute apps and make them sustainable using SPM. He provided a fresh perspective and clear examples.

Olive Binns – “The Future of Digital Identity”

Digital identity is going to be a huge topic in the coming years. Olive’s presentation gave a solid overview of where we’re headed, and why developers should care now.

Compared to Last Year

Compared to the first edition, this year’s conference felt like a step up. Everything ran smoother — more polished, more routine, fewer hiccups. The speaker lineup was again strong, but this year also included better inter-session activities and stronger overall vibes. The organizers really did their homework.

Personal Highlight

Beyond the sessions, my personal highlight was something unexpected — running into an old friend I hadn’t seen in over 15 years. Back in 2006–2007, when iOS wasn’t even a thing for most people, he was one of the early adopters with iPods and other Apple gear. He was one of my inspirations to explore the iOS world. Meeting him again at this event brought everything full circle.
